What is this Blog?

When dealing with data management and statistics it can sometimes be hard to find sets of data that are interesting, develop a particular concept or are at least relevant to this century. So as I find these data sets, I will post them here so you can use with your classes. In each case I will always have the data set downloadable in a spreadsheet for your own analysis.

The good news is that data is really everywhere. Take, for example, the banner image above. That is a path that has naturally formed from people taking a "short cut". Sometimes called a cow trail, it gives us data on where people travel (and potentially where we should put a sidewalk).

So this blog is for teachers. Use this as a portal to find data to use for your students

Other blogs I contribute to
Engaging Math - my teaching partner and I have started to share all of the activities that we have developed for grade 7-12 math
Ontario Math Links - a weekly digest of resources that can be used in a math class
Don't Fight the Tech, Use the Right Tech - I sometimes contribute to this blog which is about using technology, in general, in classrooms.
